We vary our approach to daily assembly, which may be based on a story from one of the major religions, a moral issue or a topical event. Assemblies are carefully planned and led by all members of the teaching staff. Each week we have our Rainbow Book assembly. Children are entered into the Rainbow Book for having made a special effort, usually with some aspect of their work, but sometimes for having been helpful or caring in some way. We find this an effective way of encouraging the children to try their best and encourage a positive approach to school and one another. It also gives us the opportunity to celebrate together.
Parents have the right to ask that their child does not attend assemblies if their own religion requires it.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
