There was a week long focus in school on Remembrance. All the children created an individual poppy that was displayed in the entrance hall of school. In classes and assemblies the children all learned about the importance of Remembrance and how it is followed each year.
On Friday, a special assembly took place which was led by Angela, Gary and Cathy from the church. The children all watched intently as they were led through some of the information, poetry and symbolism of a service. The Last Post and Reveille were sounded and a flag was lowered and raised.
Henry also read a very moving poem he had written himself.
Thank you for all of your contributions to the Poppy Appeal as we collected £126.16 on your behalf.
On Sunday evening we were invited to read the names of past pupils that lost their lives in WW1. Alex attended and did the school proud.
