Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Our taste buds were put to the test in Year 3 by our visiting Chef,
Mr Caldora who brought along some very interesting flavours and foods for the children to taste. He also gave us lots of information about how our senses are used when we eat and the foods we need to eat for a healthy diet. We are already looking forward to his next visit.!
We are always overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of the children and the joy they have in sharing their favourite books and characters on World Book Day. Also to see the children sharing their joy of reading with the younger pupils in school. Thank you to all of our families for making the day so successful.
Have a look at some of the creative characters who arrived in school.
Also the winners of the paper plate competition loved their special pencils from Mrs Paisley.
Our assembly today was full of excitement, not only to listen to our Year 4 pupils performing but also to find out who would be the winners of the Internet Safety Poster campaign. Mrs David received some very creative and informative entries and it was a hard choice to make. Check out our gallery for the winners.
Our school has been wrapped with the sound of music today, from being serenaded by 5 of our Year 4 pupils to our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils playing their violins to a packed audience.
Take a look at our Singing Assembly link and our Violin Concert link in the Gallery.
Thank you to all of our families and friends who have sponsored our pupils as part of the Big Bounce Obstacle Course. An event organised by our School Association who come up with great ideas every year to raise funds for school in an imaginative and fun way for the children.
All of your generous donations will be used to help fund projects around the school, the current focus being to develop the outdoor area.
We will let you know how much you have raised as soon as we know the total figure.
A huge thank you also goes to the volunteers who give up their time to make these events happen.
10 of our Year 2 girls attended a fabulous football festival at Bromsgrove school. The aim was not only to encourage more girls to take up sport but also to develop life skills useful in all walks of life.
The girls were so excited when they came back to school with some lovely comments.
" I was nervous before I went but it was amazing! I learnt how to move the ball in and out of cones."
" I think I could teach my brother how to play football now and I liked working hard and scoring goals."
Internet Safety Week has been an opportunity for children to learn more about the things to look out for that may not make them feel right and who to talk to if there is a problem.
For the older children there has been lots of debate about the different uses and platforms on the internet and when to be aware of potential danger.
The whole school has been supporting
Mental Health Week and talking about how
we can help others as well as ourselves.
Check out our class pages for photos of our first class assembly performed by class 2.
They gave us really useful information about how to look after ourselves and others to ensure we keep our mental health in good shape.
Our Year 4 pupils had a taste of what it would be like to solve problems as an engineer . As part of the STEM workshop they used K'nex to come up with a solution on how to transport a bridge to a new site.
Check out some of their solutions, they had great fun whilst learning more about science, technology, engineering and maths.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
