An exciting opportunity to lead a small school with a big heart!  

Our highly respected and valued Headteacher is embarking on an exciting new chapter in Australia.  The Trustees and Governors are seeking to appoint a passionate, committed and caring Headteacher who shares the vision and values of our village school.  

We are looking for a leader who:- 

  • Places the children at the centre of everything they do and valuing each child as an individual; ensuring learning is engaging, meaningful and supports children to know more and remember more over time. 

  • Promotes collective responsibility; encourages all to take pride in their environment; will step into another role at a moment’s notice and has high expectations.  

  • Is respectful, listens carefully and communicates well; is kind and thoughtful, values equality and acts with honesty. 

  • Values team work; is supportive and flexible valuing everyone individually.  Is always willing to help others and encourages the development of others. 

  • Is reflective and celebrates success, always learning and improving and monitoring progress over time. 

  • Has proven leadership skills with evidence of maintaining strong practices and identifying and driving school improvement. 

  • Possesses excellent people management skills with the ability to effectively manage school resources, including the school budget.

Our school is just outside the thriving market town of Bromsgrove in North Worcestershire (population 99,500 in the wider Bromsgrove District).  Stoke Prior is a small village with a real community feel. Bromsgrove is approximately a mile away, close to motorway links and sits within 30 minutes of both Worcester and Birmingham. We are lucky enough to be able to walk to our local church past the fields for our Harvest Festival, Christmas and Easter services.

School Administrator

An exciting opportunity to join a small school with a big heart!

The Governing Body are seeking to appoint a caring, committed, enthusiastic and innovative administrator to join the school office team. We are looking for someone to join us who will enjoy working in a friendly school where being part of a team is essential. The successful candidate will be flexible, organised, highly motivated with forward thinking skills and able to work on their own initiative. Whilst experience of working in a school office would be desirable, it is not essential as training can be provided. 

We are a happy, caring school and are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  We adhere to robust safeguarding procedures and the post will be dependent upon an enhanced DBS disclosure and two written references.

We are looking for someone who can:

•           Take responsibility for the day to day running of the school office and to assist the Headteacher with the effective administration of all school matters.

•           Provide administrative support to the Headteacher and other staff, to include letters, reports, newsletters, recruitment and reference requests, organisation for school productions, open days and nursery visits

•           Greet all visitors and parents at the school office, answering queries and redirecting as necessary

•           Maintain schedules and diaries, dealing with confidential information with complete discretion

•           Administer all staff records, to include recruitment and other personnel procedures including DBS and identity checks on staff, volunteers and visitors, and upkeep of the school’s Single Central Register

•           Manage staff absence and overtime using school’s personnel system

•           Complete and send off LA and DfE assessment and staffing returns, together with Census Returns throughout the year as requested

•           Administer the school meals system, to include paid and free hot dinner orders,

•           Administer coordination of school milk provision (through the www.CoolMilk system)

•           Coordinate provision and payment of music lessons and school clubs

•           Administer management information system providing all pupil information, including electronic upgrades and attendance registers, including penalty notifications

•           Administer school transfers and admissions, including induction documents, electronic files and assessment data

•           Arranging transport for and organisation of any school visits, trips, sports and residential activities

•           Administration of staff courses and co-ordination of visits from outside agencies, eg builders, contractors, sports coaches and supply teachers

•           Liaison with the PTA for the purpose of messages, newsletters and promotion of events

•           To undertake any other relevant duties at the same grade

 

Contract: Temporary with potential to become permanent

Hours: 8:30am-4:00pm Term Time Only
